Arabic Language students of our Hedayet school attended a seminar on Arabic literary critique, which took place at the 48th Cairo International Book Fair.

The seminar, given by Dr. Etidal Osman – Hedayet school’s Arabic Literature lecturer – discussed Dr. Reda Attia’s new book – titled ‘Al’aa’sh fi al sard’ or ‘Living in Narration’. Attia is one of Egypt’s young litterateur promising to be the next Naguib Mahfouz.

The Cairo International Book Fair is held every year and is the largest and oldest book fair in the Arab world. The Fair is considered the most important event in the Arabic publishing world. ‘The Book Fair event was the highlight of our school trips; to be able to take part in the biggest cultural and intellectual event in the Arab World is something truly memorable’, says one student.

The discussion was of the book ‘ al ‘aa’sh fi al sard’ or ‘Living in Narration’ by Reda Attia. A vibrant intellectual discussion that seemed interesting for the Book Fair audience of literary background.
